Frequently Asked Questions

We have compiled some of the more frequently asked questions.  If you don't have an answer or if you want to get right to the point please call us at 815.237.2247 or you can submit a contact us form and we will get back to you with the answers you need.

What does it mean to be an auto schedule customer vs. a will call customer?

Auto Schedule customers have us monitor their tank for them.  We will check your tank periodically, and fill you as needed.  To do this, we forecast your usage based on annual degree days.  Will Call customers monitor their own tank, and call us when propane is needed.

At what point do I need to call and request a fill up if I am a will call customer?

We ask that you call when your tank monitor reads 30% which is ample time to get the fill up scheduled.

Does it cost anything to lease a Dibble Enterprises tank?

There are no costs associated with leasing a Dibble tank.  A lease form is filled out and signed, and then the tank is delivered with no additional fees.

Can I purchase my own tank from Dibble Enterprises?

We do have tanks available most of the time.  Jack Gockman can help with getting one to you.  He can be reached at 815-671-3619.  We have commercial tanks new and used available for purchase as well.

How should I decide what size tank to get?

We offer 120, 250, 500, and 1000 gallon tanks. The size of your tank will depend on the size of the space being heated and what exactly the propane is being used for.  Propane has many uses such as heating a home, drying clothes, heating water, and many more.  Our Dibble team can help you to decide which size is best for you.

Is there a fuel surcharge, delivery, or installation fee associated with Dibble Enterprise services?

There are no fees associated with our services. We will come out, set the tank, deliver the gas, and all you have to do is pay for the propane being delivered + the sales tax.

How does the billing process work?

Payments are due 30 days from the date of delivery for most accounts.  Transport deliveries are due within 10 days. The first delivery payment is due upon receipt.

What are my payment options?

The current payment options are cash, writing a check made out to Dibble Enterprises, or paying over the phone with a credit or debit card.  You can call our office at 815-237-2247 to do so.  We are currently working on setting up online bill pay for the convenience of our customers.

What happens if I run out of gas?

If you run out of propane and require service on the same day, after hours, weekends or on a holiday you will be charged $250.  This fee is in addition to the propane delivered.  We require a minimum of 3-5 business days (Mon-Fri) advance notice for all "Will Call" customers.

Are there payment plans and contracts that I can sign up for?

Yes, we offer a pre-buy contract, a fixed contract, and a budget payment plan.  Please call the office for details.

Are there any good deals throughout the year to take advantage of?

Yes! The summer fill up is a must.  It is the lowest price that we have all year long, and this price typically comes out in the beginning of July.

Is it an easy process to switch over to Dibble Enterprises from another provider?

Yes, it is very simple. We will handle all paperwork and authorizations needed from your current vendor to switch service, unhook and move your current tank.  You must have a zero balance with your current vendor before authorization can be obtained.  Upon approval, our sales staff will work with you to coordinate installation.

What area does Dibble Enterprises service?

Boone, Dekalb, Ford, Grundy, Iroquois, Kane, Kankakee, Livingston, McHenry, Kendall, Will and LaSalle counties.
For service outside this area please contact us at 815-237-2247

Why can a tank only be filled to 80%?

Warmer weather can cause propane to expand causing pressure to build up in the tank. Extra space must be left in the tank as a cushion for when the temperate outside changes.

How will I know if my tank is leaking?

The biggest indicator will be the odor that the gas is giving off, and you may also hear a hissing noise.

If I am leasing a tank from Dibble Enterprises, can I have another provider fill up?

No, you must own your own tank to have multiple providers fill it up.

What if I have a gate that needs to be opened or a dog that needs to be caged before delivery?

Simply call the office and let us know…we will leave a note on your account that the drivers will see prior to delivery.
